Fun and Fundraising in 2009
Since becoming affiliated to the British Riding Clubs in October 2008 Ceffylau Cadfarch Riders has organised 6 Fun Rides, commencing with the Calennig Ride on a wintry day on the 28th December 2008 in Celtica Car Park, Machynlleth.
We have currently raised over £3,500 for a variety of charities. The charities that have benefited so far include the Children's Ward, Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth; Breast Cancer Care, Wales Air Ambulance, Amser Justin Time - Pancreatic Cancer Charity Wales, British Heart Foundation and World Horse Welfare (formerly known as the ILPH).
During 2009 we had 85 members and had an average of over 30 riders at each of our rides. We arranged rides in Talybont Ceredigion, Talyllyn Gwynedd, Uwchygarreg, Machynlleth and Aberangell.
Funride season was rounded off with our AGM Dinner and Auction held at the Brigands Inn, Mallwyd where nearly 50 members had an opportunity to join the Committee to review our first year, put forward suggestions for future Cadfarch activities and enjoy a wonderful evening of food and drink and the chance to bid for some gratefully donated auction items!
